Guitar nut replacement for epiphone casino12/23/2023 ![]() ![]() Then i turn it counter clockwise to loosen it. On all my guitars they started out a little stiff, I turn the trussrod back and forth a couple of times to make sure it is able to turn atleast a little. Here's what truss rod on mine looks like - fairly deep as well. ![]() ![]() Some older models may have used single action rods (but not sure). In both cases though, once the rod is engaged, a 1/4 turn is considered quite a bit. it's acting to create more relief, reduce relief (or doing nothing in the middle). For dual action rods, the rod is acting both ways - there's really only one spot in the middle where it's not engaged - i.e. If it's completely disengaged and someone kept turning in the disengaged direction, I could see there being a few 360 turns before you engage it again. Single action only engages one way - so when you turn the opposite way and disengage it, it will just loosen. But what you're describing is likely the difference between single action and dual action truss rods. I don't have any way to verify this, and people here who know more about historical specs would be able to tell you. But it's likely they're asleep (I'm in JST time zone and I'm *ahem* working from home this week and conveniently surfing the web while at it). There are some very experienced people here and can offer you lots of helpful advice. ![]()
